March – A month of all seasons

Here in Ireland, March is know as a month of all seasons, Sun, Rain, Wind, Snow – it’s the month that just keeps on giving.

With the changeable weather in mind it’s good to know what vegetables are in season so you can be prepared to feed your family and guests whatever the weather.

As you can see from the list above we have plenty of Spring Greens, these are the earliest vegetables of the year and have some of the best health benefits, which include the reduction of blood pressure and can help reduce the risk of CVD.

Green vegetables are a good source of vitamin A, C, K & folate they are very rich in potassium, iron, calcium and are also a great source of fibre.
